Tim Nicley enrolled in UVA’s Certificate in Leadership program to improve in certain areas of management and finance in which he had limited formal academic training.

Sometimes it takes a while to find a fulfilling career path, but, as Julia McDonald discovered, if you pay attention to the issues that arouse your curiosity, you’ll likely head in the right direction.

I was asked to come in for an interview because my decision to pursue the certificate was seen as a sign of my commitment to the field.

The Certificate in Cybersecurity Management was full of useful information and hands-on experiences, Chik says.

“I thought it was about time to really commit to the profession, get additional training, and take my CPA exam,” Marshall says.
